Salmon
Salmon Courses are available.
See Courses for details.
The true king of
fishing and in my opinion the greatest sport on earth.
The double handed rod
often causes problems for beginners. Learn from the outset from
a professionally qualified instructor. You will save a lot of
time, effort and money in the long run as well as having a whole
lot of fun. |
|
 |
I offer one to one
instruction in basic salmon casts with the double handed rod as well
as a week long course with hosted fishing in Scotland.
 |
|
At the
conclusion of your course you will be able to fish any of the
salmon rivers in the UK. Included in the course are lessons on
safety, wading, flies and methods. The only item missing is an
invitation to join you on your weeks fishing. |
From 2005 we will
also offer hosted spring and autumn salmon fishing in the Scottish
Borders. We offer a hire service for those without their own salmon tackle
which is an excellent way to find whether or not a rod suits you. This
year we have had several clients attend our courses with their own rods
who have suddenly realised that the salesman was working for himself. We
will slow-mail or e-mail full details to you upon request.
|
 |
You will be taught to correctly
and safely cast the following;
- Roll Cast
- Overhead Cast
- Single and Double Spey Casts.
|
I will also teach you to cast
left and right hand up the rod and from left, and right hand banks. This
ensures your weeks fishing will not be ruined by your inability to fish
both banks. The river height and weather are outside my remit, sorry.
The improver is provided for with
refresher lessons in the above plus;
- Snake Roll Cast.
- Jump Roll Cast
- Distance casting
If you have a problem with one
particular cast or a particular aspect of one cast i.e. power application,
casting arc then I can help.
